A woman was killed in an overnight shooting in Aurora on Friday that also hospitalized one of the four suspects.
Three of the suspects attempted to flee the scene in a moving truck but got stuck in the snow near E470 and Peña Boulevard in Denver, where Aurora officers arrested them, according to a Friday morning news release from the police department.
Officers are investigating the shooting as a homicide.
Just before 3 a.m., Aurora police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 14600 block of East 2nd Avenue, the release stated.
When first responders arrived at the scene, paramedics took two people with gunshot wounds to a local hospital for treatment while patrol officers pursued the three suspects fleeing in a moving truck, the release stated.
In a midmorning update, police announced that one of the gunshot victims — an adult woman — had died from her injuries in the hospital and the second was a suspect in the case.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
