Police seek public’s help after fatal shooting of 36-year-old woman near Aurora grocery store

Aurora police are looking for leads after a 36-year-old woman was shot to death near a grocery store in Aurora on Saturday.

Police are hoping anyone who lives near the scene of the crime near the intersection of East 6th Avenue and North Del Mar Circle and who has surveillance cameras can review the footage from 6-6:30 p.m. Saturday and let them know of any suspicious activity.

A police officer flagged down by a neighbor who saw the woman bleeding from her gunshot wounds performed CPR. Paramedics who responded to the scene after 6:30 p.m. Saturday rushed the woman to a hospital, where she died, the Aurora Police Department announced in a news release.

Aurora’s homicide investigators have appealed to the public for help solving the case. No arrests had been made Saturday night.

Anyone with information about this fatal shooting can anonymously contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 and be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.

Police said officials in the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office would release the name of the woman after identifying her and notifying relatives.
