Westminster police on Sunday evening arrested a 40-year-old man on investigation of first-degree murder in connection with a homicide over the weekend.
August Alonzo Romero will be housed at the Adams County Detention Facility, authorities said in a Monday news release.
Police responded Saturday evening to the area of Alcott and Zuni Streets, where they found a man who had been hit by a pickup truck.
Westminster police over the weekend said the pickup driver, alleged to be Romero, hit the other man during an altercation.
The victim, who has not been identified, went to the hospital, where he later died.
Police are still searching for the black Dodge Ram truck involved in the homicide, Westminster police spokesperson Cheri Spottke said Monday.
Investigators now believe a white sticker on the left rear window was removed, but there is a flag sticker or imprint on the middle rear sliding glass window. The truck also has storage areas above the rear wheel wells.
