Members of the Vail Police Department arrested officer Adam Bloom on Wednesday, charging Bloom with harassment of a local woman and terminating his job with the department.
According to a local witness, Bloom was involved in an incident that occurred at Local Joe’s Pizza, a bar and restaurant in the Sandstone area of Vail, between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Saturday. He had been with the department for less than a year.
Bartender Lidia Whipple said Bloom arrived at the bar at about 1:15 a.m. with two friends on Saturday morning. Bloom was behaving erratically and letting it be known to all in the bar that he was an officer with Vail Police, Whipple said.
Not long after arriving, “He tried to start a fight with one of our bar guests,” Whipple said.
