One person was killed and two people injured in a head-on crash on Berthoud Pass, closing U.S. 40 in both directions until 9 p.m. Friday, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The two-vehicle crash at mile point 251 was reported at 3:20 p.m., said Trooper Gabriel Moltrer. One person died in the crash and two others were taken to a hospital with unknown injuries, Moltrer said.
The highway reopened at 9 p.m., according to CDOT.
