High winds, snow close roads in Colorado’s Eastern Plains, mountains

Blowing dust and high winds on the eastern plains and wintry weather in the mountains have forced road closures around the state.

U.S. 287 is closed in both directions from Lamar south to Springfield according to a tweet. CDOT’s trip planner website cotrip.org also said the northbound lanes were closed from the Oklahoma border to Springfield for safety concerns.

Colo. 14 was closed in both directions due to safety concerns between U.S. 40 and Colo. 125, according to a CDOT tweet. The closure was reported at 11:30 a.m.
U.S. 40 is closed in both directions from mile point 139 miles east of Steamboat Springs to mile point 184 near Kremmling according to cotrip.org.
 U.S. 6 over Loveland Pass is closed, according to a 10:29 a.m. tweet.
Colo. 184 is closed in both directions from Colo. 145 to U.S. 491, according to cotrip.org.
U.S. 85 is closed in both directions between county roads 100 and 108 near Nunn for a crash.
Colo. 125 is closed in both directions from County Road 38 near Sentinel Mountain to the Wyoming border, according to cotrip.org.
