An international United flight headed to Paris was diverted to Denver on Thursday after the crew reported trouble with one of the plane’s engines.
United Flight 990 — a Boeing 777-200 — was headed north over the Canadian border during its route from San Francisco to Paris when it changed course, aiming for Denver International Airport, according to FlightAware tracking data.
The flight was canceled upon landing in Denver, United spokesperson Russell Carlton said Friday. The plane landed safely and passengers deplaned normally.
Emergency services were standing by for the plane’s arrival but weren’t needed, Carlton said.
United was working with customers Friday to provide them with new flight options, Carlton said. There were 273 passengers and 12 crew members on board.
