Eastbound U.S. 6 is reopened in Clear Creek Canyon after emergency responders rescued a fallen rock climber.
Crews with West Metro Fire Rescue and the Golden Fire Department worked to safely rescue the rock climber from a high rock ledge above Clear Creek, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. The climber suffered injuries that were not life-threatening in a fall.
The eastbound lane was shut down, from the Jefferson County line to Tunnel 2, before noon on Wednesday. The roadway reopened at about 2 p.m., according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
