Get lost in the woods — with beer
Saturday. Fort Collins’ New Belgium Brewing Co. is hosting a beer festival on Saturday, Feb. 10, and it just might be its most enchanting of the year. Lost in the Woods is a celebration of the brewery’s cellar specialties, including barrel-aged sour beers made in wooden fermentation vessels called foeders.
Fittingly, the event takes place in New Belgium’s so-called Foeder Forest, a brewing space home to 56 of the namesake pieces of equipment. That’s also where guests will find a DJ and free food. This year’s theme is “storybook slumber party,” so consider this an invitation to don your comfiest pajamas for the occasion.

Flame-spewing owls? It must be Valentine’s Day.
Through Wednesday. This year’s biggest attention-getters for our annual, love-it-or-hate-it Hallmark holiday include the return of the “Mortified Live: Doomed Valentine’s Show” at the Oriental Theater, where adults share “their most angst-ridden teenage diaries, artwork, and more — in front of total strangers,” organizers wrote. 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at 4335 W. 44th Ave. in Denver. $22-$25. getmortified.com/live
New this year at Loveland’s Sweetheart Festival on Saturday, Feb. 10, is a 25-foot-tall steel owl that shoots flames out of its wings at the city’s Foundry Plaza. The Burning Man sculpture, titled “Māo Tóu Yīng” (Chinese for owl), will be accompanied by fire spinners and flaming Cupid, a smaller fire sculpture that has been featured at previous Sweetheart Festivals.

Fortune Feimster’s comedy gold
Friday. If you’ve seen Fortune Feimster on TV lately, it was likely on Netflix’s “FUBAR,” the action-comedy co-starring Arnold Schwarzenegger that was renewed for a second season last year. While the ever-ascendant North Carolina native has proven her comedic credentials on “Last Comic Standing,” “Chelsea Lately” and other vehicles, her acting resume has become a solid side gig to her true love of stand-up.

Denver Women’s Chorus turns 40
Saturday. The Denver Women’s Chorus on Saturday, Feb. 10, will revisit its greatest hits and “new classics” by Brandi Carlile, the Indigo Girls and others as part of HerStory, a 40th-anniversary celebration of the unique group. They’re part of Rocky Mountain Arts Association, which bills itself as the oldest and largest LGBTQ performing arts organization, and have a storied history of supporting underserved cultural communities.
