Broncos legend Terrell Davis joins CSU Rams athletics

CSU is adding an NFL legend to its ranks — but not as a coach.

Terrell Davis, Broncos icon and Pro Football Hall of Famer, is joining the Rams’ athletic department as a “CSU Athletics Rambassador,” the university announced Thursday morning.

The two-time Super Bowl champion, now 51, will join CSU’s new Presidential Executive in Residence program.

The school said Davis’ role will be university wide, but will include sideline appearances at home football games, engagement with all CSU student-athletes, speaking and classroom appearances, and work with donors and stakeholders.

“Colorado is my home, and over the years I’ve been looking for the right opportunity to give back to this state that has given me so much,” Davis said via a CSU news release.

“As I’ve come to understand the history and mission of CSU, I recognize a clear set of shared beliefs — this notion that you can change the world, improve your community and make a difference when you combine talent, creativity, hard work and determination. That resonates with me, and I’m honored to serve as CSU’s Athletics Rambassador.”

Davis, who starred at tailback for the Broncos from 1995-2001 and was inducted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017, currently serves as founder and chief development officer of DEFY, a sports nutrition company.

A graduate of Georgia, where he transferred after Long Beach State discontinued its football program, Davis has been seen at CSU events in recent months as a guest of president Amy Parsons.
