A teenage suspect was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder Friday in connection with last week’s fatal shooting in Aurora that killed a 19-year-old and sent another man to a hospital.
Officers arrested a 16-year-old on suspicion of first-degree murder Friday morning after video footage and witness testimony connected the teenager to the case, according to a 10:53 a.m. post from the Aurora Police Department.
Officers originally responded to reports of a shooting at a rental hall in the 2000 block of North Tower Road just before midnight Saturday, according to a news release from the Aurora Police Department.
When officers arrived, they found a large party of adults and juveniles and two men suffering from gunshot wounds, the release stated.
Paramedics took both men to a hospital, where one later died from his wounds. The other has since been released from the hospital.
The filing of formal charges is pending review by the Adams County district attorney’s office, the police department stated.
The victim will be identified by the Adams County coroner’s office.
