Before taking stage at Empower Field at Mile High on Friday night, Taylor Swift made a generous donation to the Food Bank of the Rockies.
Swift, who is in Denver as part of her international Eras Tour, has given to food banks in other cities where she has performed. Her donation to the local non-profit, which provides hunger relief in communities across Colorado and Wyoming, is the equivalent of 75,000 meals.
Feeding America projects that one in 11 people are experiencing hunger in this region. Swift’s donation comes at a crucial time.
“We are seeing more need now than we ever have before. This is hitting Food Bank of the Rockies’ budget hard. To meet the needs of our neighbors experiencing hunger, we are spending triple what we were pre-COVID on food purchasing every month,” said Aditi Desai, chief marketing officer, in a news release. “We’ve been able to meet the increased demand thanks to the generosity of individuals like Taylor Swift. Her gift will help fuel our work across the Rockies and allow us to distribute more food to our communities.”
