Severe thunderstorm warning issued for Arvada, Wheat Ridge and Golden

2:47 p.m.: A severe thunderstorm warning posted through 3 p.m. includes Arvada, Wheat Ridge and Golden, according to the National Weather Service. Quarter-size hail and winds up to 50 mph is expected.

2:47 p.m.: Drivers in northeastern Colorado are urged to be cautious and to not drive beyond safety road closure points because of washouts, sinkholes and flooded areas. Multiple roads are closed in Weld County along Sand Creek and Lost Creek. Closures include: CR 73 from SH 52 to CR 18; CR 71 from CR 14 to CR 16; CR 10 from SH 79 (CR 69) to CR73; CR 14 from CR 69 to CR 71; CR 16 from CR 71 to CR 73; CR 18 from CR 73 to CR 75.5; CR 22 east of CR 73.

Noon: The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for the Cameron Peak burn scar in Larimer County. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include Pennock Pass, Pingree Park and Glen Haven, according to the Larimer Emergency Telephone Authority.

10:27 a.m.: Thunderstorms will move through Castle Rock, Franktown and Larkspur potentially bringing nickel-sized hail and 30 mph winds until 11:15 a.m., according to a severe weather warning from the National Weather Service.

10:11 a.m.: Thunderstorms will move through Denver around 10:45 a.m., according to the weather service. Small hail, brief rainfall and lightning possible.

10:05 a.m.: The National Weather Service is warning of severe weather in Denver, Aurora and Lakewood this morning. Winds of up to 30 mph and half-inch-sized hail are possible.

9:53 a.m.: A funnel cloud was reported this morning in Park County, NWS said.
