South Parker Road reopened in Arapahoe County on Monday afternoon after a crash involving a motorcycle and a tractor-trailer sent a person to the hospital with serious injuries, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.
South Metro Fire Rescue crews responded to a serious crash near South Parker Road and Emporia Street around 12:11 p.m. that brought power lines down in the intersection, the agency said in a post on X. One person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Sheriff’s officials later confirmed the motorcyclist was injured and the tractor-trailer took out a power pole.
Three customers were impacted by an outage in the area, according to Xcel Energy’s outage map.
South Parker Road, which is also called Colorado 83, was closed in both directions between Iliff Avenue and Jewell Circle until 3 p.m., when one lane reopened in both directions, according to the sheriff’s office.
Drivers should avoid the area, South Metro officials said.
