South Jeffco: A chance to create a custom home on an acre-plus site beside Bear Creek Greenbelt

From the raw suburban landscape that wrapped Denver in the early 1950s, no area disappeared to developers quite so fast as Jefferson County—the prettiest suburbs, closest to the parks and foothills, and equally close to the entertainment attractions Denver would come to offer.

Builder John Kurowski still has a couple of acre-plus home sites that show off all of those attractions—each of them totally secluded, with views of Mt. Morrison and the foothills behind Red Rocks. Both are close to Lakewood’s 500-acre Bear Creek Greenbelt, one nestling it.

You can walk those sites at Sundance at Bear Creek this afternoon. They’re just eight minutes from the restaurant and shopping scenes at Bel Mar and at Southwest Plaza, 20 minutes from downtown. And you can talk over your ideas with John Kurowski—winner of countless Best Home awards for his creative, sustainable homes to be seen in Jefferson County’s best neighborhoods.

“These sites are straight out of a time machine; you can’t find anything like them so close-in to town now,” says Kurowski.

Each site is seven times as large as typical Denver lots are sized now—large enough to create a “forever home,” with lavish entertaining areas and the latest energy tech, plus a garage sized for your custom car collection—a culture Kurowski knows well from his company’s service in helping stage car shows as a benefit for U.S. veterans.

When you drive into Sundance, just south of Yale Avenue on S. Estes Street, you’ll see the Bear Creek Bike Trail that carries riders east into urban Denver or west to Bear Creek Lake and other mountain parks.

Fishing in Bear Creek and two large lakes are within an easy walk of either site; along with the Greenbelt’s ‘Old Stone House’ that’s a popular site for weddings and other events.

Part of the attraction of Sundance is the seclusion, says Broker Jason August, who will be on hand with Kurowski this afternoon, noon until 3.

“The pandemic gave homebuyers a yearning for nature, and Sundance provides that while being close in to everything Denver offers,” says August. He notes that Sundance at Bear Creek is wrapped by the park and by mature trees.

This is a rare chance for a genuine custom homebuilding experience with one of Denver’s best-known builders—excited to work with your own ideas and with plenty of experience in sustainable designs.

Come by Sundance Sunday, May 21, noon-to-3. Take Wadsworth north from Hampden/U.S. 285 to W. Yale Ave.; head west along the open space to S. Estes St. Turn south on Estes, thru the park to an entry on the west.

Or call Jason August for a special appointment today, 303-726-5990.
