Aurora police arrested four people in connection with a shooting outside the Southlands shopping mall Sunday night.
Nobody was injured, Aurora police spokesman Joe Moylan said via email. Three of the suspects are adults and one is a minor. Authorities did not name the suspects.
Police responded around 10 p.m. Sunday to reports of a shooting near the mall in the 6100 block of South Aurora Parkway. Officers found shell casings in the parking lot and at least one store went on lockdown, Moylan said.
Soon after, officers tried to initiate a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle, but the individuals sped away. The car ended up crashing into another vehicle, with the four suspects running from the crash, police said.
Two suspects were ultimately taken into custody in the backyard of a home in the 20400 block of East Duke Drive. The remaining two individuals were located and arrested nearby.
