Man shot to death in Denver’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, police investigating as homicide

A man was shot to death Friday night in a suspected homicide in Denver’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, police said.

Just after 9 p.m. Friday, the Denver Police Department posted on social media that officers were investigating a shooting near the intersection of West 8th Avenue and Kalamath Street.

The intersection lies a half-mile west of Denver Health and one mile south of the Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Two hours later, the victim — an unidentified adult man — died from his injuries at the hospital and Denver detectives began investigating the shooting as a homicide, police said in an 11:17 p.m. update.

The Denver Office of the Medical Examiner will identify the man at a later date.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867 or to submit a tip online.

This is a developing story.
