One person was taken to a hospital after a shooting on eastbound Interstate 76 in Commerce City on Tuesday night.

The highway was briefly closed after a shooting near 104th Avenue, according to the Commerce City Police Department and Colorado Department of Transportation.

Few details about the shooting were immediately available, but there is no danger to the public and everyone involved is accounted for, police said on X.

The interstate was closed between U.S. 85 and Colo. 44/104th Avenue, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. The left lane reopened at 7:15 p.m.
