Two people were taken to a hospital Saturday morning when a train on RTD’s W-Line derailed at the Jefferson County Government Center in Golden.
The incident happened about 9:30 a.m., when the “first car of a light rail train derailed,” RTD said in a news release. Four people and the operator were on board. Two people reported “minor injuries” and were taken to a hospital by emergency responders. The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
A bus shuttle is in place between the Jefferson County stop and the Red Rocks Community College station while crews work to safely rerail the train, RTD said. The W-Line is running on schedule.
Rail service to the government center will be restored as soon as possible, the station is currently closed to the public.
