Emergency maintenance closed several southern RTD rail lines for much of the day Monday, but most service on three light-rail lines was restored mid-afternoon.
All train service between Colorado Station and Ridgegate Station (on the E-Line) and Florida Station (on the H-Line) was suspended beginning before dawn, RTD said, and shuttles replaced train service along most of those southeast metro routes. Much of the R-Line also was suspended.
RTD announced about 2:30 p.m. that shuttle buses were being recalled, and the lines were starting up service again. “Crews are still working near the Yale Station but trains will be servicing all stops along the E and H line,” the agency tweeted.
The R-Line, however, still has a bus shuttle farther north, connecting stations between Florida and 13th Avenue, due to cleanup and repairs from a train derailment last week. On Monday afternoon, RTD resumed running R-Line trains south of Florida Station.
