RTD’s A-line is back to running the entire length from Union Station to Denver International Airport, with no need for shuttle buses bridging service, after crews completed repairs.
Morning commuters and people traveling to the airport experienced delays into the afternoon as RTD resorted to shuttle buses to get riders from Central Park Station to 40th and Airport (Gateway Park) Station, according to an RTD spokesperson.
Trespassers caused damage to the crossing gates at Chambers Road, RTD spokesman Austin Nettleton said. Crews worked on the problem and the district announced the fix at 3:26 p.m. Tuesday on Twitter.
A-line trains from Union Station to Central Park Station were delayed by about 30 minutes, and trains from Denver International Airport Station to 40th and Airport were about 20 minutes delayed.
At least two trains were canceled due to the delay, according to RTD’s service alert page.
Commuters can sign up for service alerts to see the most up-to-date information on delays, Nettleton said. RTD asked that riders continue to exercise patience and to continue to allow for “extra travel time as trains get back in order.”
