On the mound: In his second Cactus League start, lefty Austin Gomber was blasted for five runs on seven hits over just 1 1/3 innings. Included in the onslaught was a second-inning triple by new Dodger Shohei Ohtani. … Right-handed relievers Matt Koch, Jeff Criswell, Anthony Molina and Riley Pint each worked a scoreless, hitless inning. Criswell struck out two batters while Molina and Pint each K’d one.

At the plate: Nolan Jones has snapped out of an early spring slump. Jones DH’d Sunday and went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. He’s hit safely in three straight games after starting the spring 0-for-10 over his first four games.

Prospect watch: Third baseman Warming Bernabel (the club’s No. 10 prospect according to MLB Pipeline) was optioned to Double-A Hartford. The Rockies also reassigned eight players to minor league camp — infielders Connor Kaiser, Grant Lavigne and Ryan Ritter; outfielders Benny Montgomery and Bladimir Restituyo; left-handed pitchers Carson Palmquist and Joe Rock; and right-hander Kyle Wilcox.
