A 30-year-old man is sentenced to life in prison for the shooting death of a teenager in Denver.
A Denver jury on Wednesday found Shamil Jefferson guilty of the Dec. 21, 2017, shooting of 17-year-old Zalynnda Kassogue in the Green Valley Ranch neighborhood, according to the Denver District Attorney’s Office. Zalynnda was sitting in her red Jeep when she was shot.
The jury deliberated for about seven hours before returning with a guilty verdict in the murder case. Jefferson was immediately sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
