The Juneteenth Block Party and Music Festival took place along Welton Street in the Five Points neighborhood on June 18, 2023 in Denver.
Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Deriving its name from combining June and nineteenth, it is celebrated on the anniversary of the order by Maj. Gen. Gordon Granger proclaiming freedom for slaves in Texas on June 19, 1865.
