Pedestrian dies after being runover by tractor-trailer in Denver’s Five Points neighborhood

A pedestrian died in a traffic crash in Denver’s Five Points neighborhood on Wednesday morning, according to the Denver Police Department.

At approximately 10:50 a.m. in the 2900 block of North Arkins Court, the driver of a tractor trailer was traveling westbound when an adult male pedestrian on the north shoulder fell into the roadway as the truck was passing, according to a 3:11 p.m. update on X. The pedestrian was struck by the right rear tires and later pronounced dead at the scene.

The truck driver left the scene but was eventually located. The driver said they did not know the pedestrian had been hit, according to police.

The driver was interviewed and released without a citation. The investigation is still open and will be presented to the Denver District Attorney’s Office.
