A person was killed and Colorado Boulevard is closed after an early morning shooting in Denver.

Officers began investigating the shooting about 4 a.m. in the 1100 block of Colorado Boulevard after a person was injured, the Denver Police Department said in a tweet.

A couple hours later, police said the person died from their injuries.

Police are still investigating the shooting and said Colorado Boulevard is closed at 9th Avenue. Police did not provide a time for reopening and advised drivers to find alternate routes.

No suspect information has been released.
