Old Fall River Road is opening for the season on Sunday, Rocky Mountain National Park officials confirmed Wednesday.
The unpaved road that starts near the Endovalley Picnic Area and ends at the top of Fall River Pass, merging with Trail Ridge Road, typically opens for the season in early July.
The road will be closed to bicycles and pedestrians Thursday through Saturday for opening operations and dust abatement.
Built between 1913 and 1920, Fall River Road is a one-way only, uphill route up Mount Chapin and is closed to vehicles over 25 feet and all trailers.
Timed entry reservations are required between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
