The Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office lifted an Oak Ridge fire pre-evacuation warning for Beulah residents at noon Monday, citing progress made by fire crews and increased containment.
Beulah residents on Middle Creek Canyon Road, Vine Mesa, Cascade Avenue, Pine Avenue and Beulah Highlands Road are no longer on pre-evacuation status, the sheriff’s office said in social media posts Monday.
The lightning-sparked fire has burned more than 1,300 acres of U.S. Forest Service land since it started on June 22, and fire crews have gained 69% containment as of Monday.
This is the first fire to burn in the area in more than 100 years, according to fire officials.
