North Creek fire burning near Beulah is 100% contained

The North Creek fire, burning on U.S. Forest Service land about six miles northwest of the Beulah Valley, is 100% contained.

The fire, which started about 1 p.m. Saturday, has burned 50 acres, according to fire officials. Light smoke may still be visible from the interior area of the fire.

The fire, which burned through grass, brush and ponderosa pine, was human-caused, sparked by a campfire, according to Pike & San Isabel National Forest officials. No structures are threatened. Firefighters will continue to patrol the fire throughout the week.
