New Natural Grocers stores to open in Denver’s Central Park, Brighton next month

Natural Grocers, the organic grocery store chain with roots firmly planted in Colorado, plans to open two more stores in Brighton and Denver’s Central Park neighborhood.

The grand opening for Brighton’s first location at 903 S. 8th Ave. will be Sept. 14. The first outpost in Central Park at 3165 N. Central Park Blvd. will open on Sept. 30.

“I love spreading our reach and commitment to all the communities we can touch in Colorado,” said Raquel Isely, vice president of marketing for Natural Grocers and a second-generation Coloradan. “We love that we are now able to bring access to healthy food at an ‘always affordable price’ to even more people in the Denver Community.”

The family-operated chain headquartered in Lakewood includes more than 160 stores in 21 states. The Natural Grocers team has been searching for the right spot in the Central Park area for about a decade and in Brighton for at least five years, said Katie Macarelli, manager of public relations.

At both locations’ openings, the first 150 customers in line will receive a free Natural Grocers mystery gift card worth $5 to $500.

A Colorado institution now, the store was first started by Margaret and Phillip Isely in 1955. The chain promotes its USDA-certified organic produce, free-range eggs, pasture-based dairy and humanely and sustainably-raised meats.

The store offers free nutritional health coaching and donates to food banks. The Brighton and Central Park locations will work with Food Bank of the Rockies.

Natural Grocers is also celebrating its 67th anniversary event this week from Aug. 18-20.
