Almost a dozen new businesses recently announced moves or relocations into downtown Denver, its surrounding areas and Colorado Springs.
• Law firm Clark Hill moved its new office to Lower Downtown this month from its former location in the Central Business District, expanding its square footage from 6,000 square feet to 12,000. “Our Denver location will still be a hub for cannabis work at the firm, but we’re looking to attract talented attorneys with practices in other industries to serve a broader audience,” said Robert Hoban, Denver member-in-charge. “This area is well-known in Denver as a dynamic, hip, everchanging, and sophisticated area.”
• Cosmetics store Credo Beauty recently opened at Dairy Block at 1801 Blake St. in Suite 100 as the company’s 13th store.
• Veterinarian Thrive Pet Healthcare opened a new urgent care clinic at 757 E. 20th Ave. last month. The network includes around 400 locations nationwide.
• A new bar, Emerald Eye, is set to open in Larimer Square at 1403 Larimer St. on July 20, with bar group Pouring With Heart at the helm. It plans to serve Caribbean-inspired cocktails. “Larimer Square is a top downtown Denver destination and we are thrilled to be a part of this vibrant neighborhood,” said Erbin Garcia, Pouring With Heart’s Denver director of operations.
Outside of the city’s downtown, Denver Tech Center will serve as the new home of public accounting firm Stockman Kast Ryan + Co. Headquartered in Colorado Springs, the firm will open its new 4,200-square-foot office in Greenwood Village this summer.
Englewood, Broomfield, Aurora, Colorado Springs
Health care company Kaiser Permanente extended its lease term for office space at One & Two Greenwood Plaza at 6550 and 6560 Greenwood Plaza Blvd. in Englewood, according to a Tuesday announcement by real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield.
Albedo, a company that offers higher-resolution images from space, chose Broomfield for its new manufacturing facility, while youth gaming league XP League opened its first e-sports center in Aurora at 22675 East Aurora Parkway.
An hour drive south, Colorado Springs is attracting new business, too.
• Architecture and design firm Relativity Architects – based in Los Angeles – opened its Colorado office in Colorado Springs after collaborations with Colorado architect Blue Accessibility Consultants. “That relationship inspired us to open a joint office to expand our expertise to clients in the Western states, where the population is surging,” partner Scott Sullivan said.
• Automotive retailer AutoNation Inc., opened an AutoNation USA location at 5120 New Car Drive. It’s the 16th AutoNation USA in the country, which focuses specifically on selling used cars. Almost 20 other locations under the overarching AutoNation umbrella are dotted throughout the state, including two new-vehicle dealerships in the city.
• Fast-casual restaurant chain Balance Pan-Asian Grille is eyeing Colorado Springs, along with Denver and Boulder, for potential expansion after the launch of its Arvada location at 15177 Candelas Parkway last year. “Colorado is a lively and flourishing state and we can’t wait to continue to share our passion for flavorful fresh-focused foods with its communities,” cofounder HoChan Jang said. The company anticipates a minimum of five restaurants in each market, with the potential for dozens more.
