How to get tickets to Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats’ Ball Arena concert

Denver’s Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats will headline Ball Arena on Dec. 16 as part of the band’s semi-annual Holiday Show, promoter AEG Presents announced today.

The “7th annual, 10th annual” show, as it’s called, was paused by the pandemic but is back at its biggest venue yet. Before Rateliff had formed his globe-trotting, Bob Dylan-approved Night Sweats, he was holding the holiday party each year to gather friends and fans for a night of reverie — initially at mid-sized theaters such as the Ogden Theatre (capacity 1,600).

Significantly, the Dec. 16 show is taking place at the home of the Colorado Avalanche and the Denver Nuggets. It’s one of the biggest stages in the region and Rateliff’s first headlining show there, having opened for the Rolling Stones at Empower Field at Mile High and headlined sold-out Red Rocks concerts several years in the past.

Rateliff’s buddy Marcus Mumford, of British pop-folk act Mumford & Sons, will open, along with instrumental act Hermanos Gutierréz. Tickets for the all-ages concert at 1000 Chopper Circle in Denver are $25-$129.50 and on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, by calling 800-745-3000 or visiting ticketmaster.com.

It’s not the only high-profile Rateliff show on sale this week. On Monday, Colorado Symphony announced tickets were on sale for Rateliff’s March 3 and 4 concerts at Boettcher Concert Hall — part of the symphony’s Imagination Artist Series, which includes Wu-Tang Clan legend RZA (performing “A Ballet Through Mud with RZA and Colorado Symphony). Tickets are at $15-$98 at tickets.coloradosymphony.org.
