The Colorado Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday updated an alert for a 27-year-old Fort Collins man with developmental disabilities who may be in the Denver area.
Last seen by family members May 2 on foot wearing red shoes in Fort Collins near the intersection of Lincoln and Riverside avenues, Collin Best on May 4 may have boarded in bus in Denver to go to St. Louis, with a final destination of Fayetteville, N.C., according to the CBI.
“It is now unknown if he got on the bus from Denver to St. Louis,” authorities said. “Collin may still be in the Denver Metro Area, but also might be along the bus route to St. Louis.”
Best suffers from autism and bipolar conditions, “functions at about a 5-year-old level,” and has been suicidal in the past, the alert said. He’s 5-foot, 7-inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes, and had a blue and white backpack with him, authorities said in the alert.
“He also has a fear of police officers and police patrol cars,” the alert said. “It is unknown how Collin will react if contacted by police.”
Anybody with information is asked to contact Fort Collins police at 970-221-6540.
