A suspicious incident in Arvada reported as a possible missing or abducted child on Thursday did not actually involve a missing or abducted child, according to Arvada police.

The Arvada Police Department posted an alert about a possible missing or abducted child on Thursday afternoon after receiving 911 calls about a girl in a car who was in distress on Thursday morning.

The car was seen by officers in Wheat Ridge and Arvada and initially eluded police, according to the department.

Officers later found the car and driver referenced by 911 callers and determined it did not involve a missing or abducted child, the department posted on X at 5:27 p.m.

The incident is still under investigation, according to the department.
