A man died overnight Friday after a driver hit him near 11th Avenue and Speer Boulevard.
The man was walking when the driver hit him and apparently left the crash scene, the Denver Police Department said in a 9:41 p.m. tweet. The man was taken to a hospital where he died.
The hit-and-run driver later returned to the crash scene and was arrested on a charge of careless driving resulting in death, police said.
Neither the man who died nor the driver has been identified.
