A man was arrested Tuesday on a first-degree murder charge after a woman’s death near Fountain was found to be “suspicious,” the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.
Fountain police officers were called to a reported overdose in the 9000 block of Squirrel Creek Road outside Fountain where they found Lisa Weidlich, 43, dead.
After determining the case was in El Paso County’s jurisdiction, detectives from the Sheriff’s Office went to the scene to investigate.
They determined, with the assistance of the Colorado Spring Metro Crime Lab, that Weidlich’s death was suspicious, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Dennis Hare, 62, was identified as a suspect and arrested. He was booked into the El Paso County jail on a murder charge.
