After being shut down in January for methamphetamine remediation, the Bemis Public Library in Littleton has partially reopened.
The library on Thursday launched a curbside pickup service, according to a news release.
“Patrons will be able to resume placing holds for library materials, and can pick them up at the front door,” the release said.
On Jan. 18, test results showed methamphetamine contamination in three bathrooms, prompting the library’s closure.
Littleton continues to work closely with contractors approved by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) to remediate contamination in the library.
Second-round testing revealed contaminant levels above state limits in an additional bathroom and inside a mechanical equipment room connected to the building’s HVAC system. Contamination has not been found on books or soft surfaces like furniture.
