Westbound Interstate 70 is open in Lakewood after a two-hour closure caused by a seven-vehicle crash that injured multiple people, according to Lakewood police.
The crash occurred when a semitruck traveling westbound on I-70 swerved across three lanes of traffic and went down an embankment, said Lakewood Police spokesperson Lindsey Lee.
Six other vehicles were involved in the crash and multiple people were transported to local hospitals with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening, Lee said. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
The interstate was closed between the Colorado Mills Parkway and West Colfax Avenue exits from approximately 6:25 p.m. to 8:45 p.m., when one lane reopened, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
