The 190-room Kimpton Claret Hotel is now open in Belleview Station, a fast-growing mixed-use development south of downtown Denver.
The 19-floor boutique hotel is the first in Belleview Station, at the corner of Interstate 25 and East Belleview Avenue. Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, part of IHG Hotels & Resorts’ luxury portfolio, said the hotel officially opened its doors to guests Wednesday.
The hotel’s features include the restaurant Saverina on the ground floor, adjacent to the lobby. Italian-inspired cuisine made with sustainably grown, local and organic ingredients is on the menu.
Nineteen floors above is the Halo Rooftop Bar, with sweeping views of the Rocky Mountains. The bar has both indoor and outdoor spaces, fire pits, lounge seating and live music.
The lobby includes a hand-finished fireplace and a steel, sculpted reception desk. A grand wood staircase leads to meeting spaces on the second floor. The Kimpton Claret Hotel, 6985 E. Chenango Ave., has 10,000 square feet of meeting space that can accommodate groups of up to 250 as well as two ballrooms, a boardroom, pre-function space and an outdoor terrace
“Our location in this vibrant neighborhood positions us to become a cultural hub for locals, frequent visitors and newcomers to the area,” Keith Siebenaler, the hotel manager, said in a statement.
Siebenaler said Belleview Station is “a destination on the rise,” perfectly located between downtown Denver, the south-Denver corridor and Cherry Creek State Park.
This is Kimpton’s second hotel in Denver. The other is the Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver downtown. The Claret offers perks that Kimpton is known for, such as being pet-friendly, a daily social hour, yoga mats in every room and the “Forget It, We’ve Got It” items for travelers who forgot to pack some of the essentials.
The developer of the 35-acre Belleview Station is Front Range Land and Development. The site is a high-density mix of housing, office buildings and retail within walking distance and is on a light rail stop.
