A juvenile was seriously injured Saturday when hit by a vehicle in Broomfield, police said.

The incident happened on Lowell Boulevard and the southbound lanes were closed between 136th and 144th avenues, according to a 3:54 p.m. tweet by police.

The juvenile, who was riding a bicycle, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, according to Broomfield police.

The road closure reopened at about 5 p.m., police said. An investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing.
