The Denver metro will see sunny skies for the Fourth of July with a slight chance of evening thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service at Boulder.
Denver residents can expect temperatures to top out around 83 degrees Thursday with sunshine through 5 p.m.
Between 5 and 10 p.m., there’s an about 10% chance of rain and thunderstorms in Denver, according to the weather service.
The highest chance of evening rain showers will be in Fort Collins and to the north, and from Castle Rock to the south, where a brief thunderstorm is possible, said Bernie Meier, meteorologist at the National Weather Service for Boulder.
But most metro residents can leave their umbrellas at home for the Fourth of July fireworks shows, he said.
“Anything that happens will be brief and weak,” he said. “Most places are going to be dry and pleasant, with a pleasant evening for fireworks.”
