52-year-old man arrested for murder, assault in Englewood shooting

Englewood police on Tuesday arrested Joseph Michael Devivo for second-degree murder and assault in the shooting death of David Johnson at a home in the 2800 block of South Acoma Street.

The Englewood Police Department announced Devivo’s arrest in a news release Wednesday afternoon, thanking the work of detectives and partnerships with the Denver Police Department, Crime Stoppers and the community.

Devivo, 52, was booked into the Arapahoe County Jail without bail and is set to appear in court Thursday.

The shooting was reported at 2819 S. Acoma St. at about 1:40 a.m. Oct. 24, where police found Johnson, 53, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital and later died, and his death was ruled a homicide.
