Jefferson County paramedic charged with unlawful sexual contact

A 40-year-old Jefferson County paramedic has been charged with unlawful sexual contact, according to a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office arrest affidavit.

Dorsey Guffey was arrested on suspicion of one count of sexual contact – no consent on July 2, according to court records.

Guffey is accused of grabbing and touching a woman, including her chest and genitals, on four occasions and making sexual comments to her even after the woman told him she was not interested in having a relationship with him.

Guffey was put on administrative leave from his job because of the allegations, but the agency where he works is redacted from the affidavit.

Guffey is listed as a firefighter on the Pleasant View Metropolitan District Fire Department’s website. Department officials could not be reached Thursday to confirm if he still works there.

In a statement, Guffey’s attorney Jake Lilly with Golden law firm Tirple L Law said the firm looks forward to asserting Guffey’s innocence in court.

Guffey was released on a $5,000 bail and is set to appear in court Aug. 22, according to court records.
