Drivers can expect overnight double lane closures on Interstate 70 westbound near Golden until March as the Colorado Department of Transportation begins repairs on the C-470 bridge to fix external damages caused by a December crash that left an oversized tractor-trailer stuck underneath, the department announced Monday afternoon.

According to the department, the $1.8 million repair work will require the following closures around Exit 260:

Jan. 29 to Feb. 1: Single-lane closure from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday;
Feb. 4 to early March: Single-lane closure starting at 6 p.m. and then a double-lane closure from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday;
Single-lane closures may occur during daylight hours from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays after Feb. 4 if necessary.

Westbound I-70 offramp to C470:

Closed when there are double lane closures under the bridge (8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday starting Feb. 4).

Westbound C470 bridge over I-70:

Ongoing shoulder and lane closures until bridge repairs have been completed.

Interstate speeds in the area will be reduced to 45 miles per hour while the lane closures are in effect. The repair schedule could change due to weather, the department noted in its announcement.
