Glenwood Canyon along the Interstate 70 mountain corridor reopened to traffic Wednesday night after mudslides and flash floods forced that portion to close.
The highway was closed between Exit 133, Dotsero, and Exit 114, West Glenwood, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
There were reports of mudslides in the canyon, where a flash flood advisory, posted by the National Weather Service, is in effect until 8:30 p.m. About 5:15 p.m. Wednesday a thunderstorm unleashed heavy rain, but to an inch, in the area.
By 9 p.m. Wednesday, CDOT posted an update on its website that the interstate had reopened.
