Interstate 70 and the exit to the interstate from northbound E-470 will be closed overnight Thursday and Friday so construction crews can set pedestrian bridge.
I-70 will be closed in both directions between Tower Road and East Colfax Avenue in Aurora from 10 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday, and from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday, according to Aurora city officials.
A detour route will be marked on East Colfax Avenue between Tower and Gun Club roads.
The ramp from northbound E-470 to westbound I-70, at exit 20B, also will close overnight Thursday and Friday, according to highway officials. The toll road will close from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. both nights.
The pedestrian bridge is part of the High Line Canal Trail, which is undergoing a series of enhancements and construction projects along its 71-mile length.
Aurora crews started work in late January to close the gap along the High Line Canal between Colfax Avenue and recent trail construction north of I-70, city officials said.
The High Line Canal Trail construction project spans nearly two miles in Aurora and includes an 8-foot-wide concrete trail, two pedestrian bridges, an upgraded railroad crossing and access to the main High Line Canal Regional Trail.
