Interstate 25 reopened near Wellington after a fatal crash closed the highway for several hours, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
One person was killed and another taken to the hospital with unknown injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 2:01 p.m. near mile 281, said Colorado State Patrol Trooper Gabriel Moltrer.
Further details about the crash and the person who died were not immediately available.
The highway was closed in both directions until 4:45 p.m., when the southbound lanes reopened, according to CDOT. Northbound lanes reopened as of 7:20 p.m.
