A 46-year-old inmate in federal custody in Littleton died Friday, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.
At 11 a.m., Jacob Robert Waddelow was found “unresponsive” at the Detention Center adjacent to the Federal Correctional Institution Englewood in Littleton, a U.S. Department of Justice news release said. Staff members initiated life-saving measures, and emergency medical workers were summoned. Waddelow was declared dead by EMS responders.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Marshals Service were notified of the death. No staff members or other inmates were injured, and at no time was the public in danger, the release said. Waddelow arrived at the facility Thursday as a pretrial offender after he was indicted for possession of amphetamine and weapons offenses.
FCI Englewood, a low-security facility, houses 1,007 male offenders.
