Three lanes of eastbound Interstate 70 are closed from Central Park Boulevard to Peoria Street due to a major crash, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Eastbound traffic was backed up to Interstate 270 and almost at a standstill, DOT video shows. Two lanes of traffic appear to be open at the crash scene.
One person was taken to a hospital with “serious injuries,” the Denver Police Department said in a Tweet.
The Police Department said two vehicles were involved in the collision, and they are investigating.
Residents heading east or to Denver International Airport Tuesday morning are also contending with delays on the RTD A-Line commuter train.
