Interstate 70 westbound has reopened in Denver after a crash in which a person was hit by a driver closed those lanes of the interstate.
That person died at the scene, the Denver Police Department said in a 4:49 a.m. tweet, and the westbound side of the interstate was closed at Lowell Boulevard. The interstate partially reopened just before 8 a.m. and fully reopened about 9:15 a.m.
The crash happened just a few hours after another person was hit and killed by a driver on the eastbound lanes of I-70 a few miles away near Pecos Street, Denver police reported in a 9:07 p.m. tweet.
The eastbound lanes were closed at Federal due to that crash for a couple of hours and reopened just after 11 p.m.
The drivers in both crashes stayed at the scenes, police said.
